Fear of Success in Public Speaking

Most of us have heard that fear of public speaking is one of the biggest fears in life. When people think of having to speak in public–whether before an audience of two or three, two thousand or five million, they turn green, get stomach aches, and run in the other direction.

But what about fear of being successful at it? That’s pretty unusual. In this case, we have someone who unconsciously did not want to succeed!

My very special tapper in this teleclass helps us tap on fear of public speaking for giving presentations at work.

Becky went through a very traumatic experience as a child. She blamed herself for not being able to help the person involved, and it affected her ability to be ‘visible’ for the rest of her life–until we tapped!

What experience did you have that makes you shy away from presenting in public?

It’s a bummer not be able to get in front of people and share your expertise–especially in this day and age when changes are coming down hard and fast and the rest of us appreciate and need what you’ve got hidden inside you!

One person I worked with was totally fine with public speaking–until she thought about getting on the plane to go there. And what turned out to actually be the problem was fear of getting on the plane–not being in the plane, or flying–but getting on the plane.

Her fear prevented her from adding about $100K to her income every year, because she was so terrified of getting on planes so that she could go speak. Pretty amazing isn’t it?

TAKE BACK YOUR AUTHORITY!

What it’s really about is developing your MindSet so that you can have the best life you could possibly imagine. You must develop the ability to handle your energy in any circumstance.

This is what I call a MindSet.

When you have the MindSet that you are the authority of your life, when you have the MindSet that, “Yes, I can handle energy in any form, at any time, whether I am with anyone or not,” you become your own inner master.

You need to clean your energy up and allow it to work for you rather than against you.

So, even though your feelings can be awfully uncomfortable, you’ve got to have the courage to feel, transform it and use the cleaned up energy.

That is called a MindSet—when you can do that and know that you are in control of your energy. The first thing is to decide to do it: decide to quit being a victim! It’s great being a victim in some ways—you get to learn all the stuff about yourself that you need to heal!

As soon as you know those things, you need to flip the victim energy over and say, “I’m not going to be a victim anymore! I’m going to be the boss! I’m going to be the champion of my life!” And once you decide, you’ve got to commit to doing that 100%.

Then you need to know hold to hold the new reality!

Just the awareness that you have the key will change your attitude towards the stuff that comes to you from now on. Because instead of feeling like a victim and thinking, “Oh, my God, this is going to last forever and I don’t know what to do,” you can say to yourself, “Ha HA! There is treasure in this moment!

Anger & Frustration

Anger, frustration and worry are the topics in this session, because I want to make sure you know that, instead of being “bad” things, they are just simply part and parcel of the creation process!

I don’t know about you, but my reaction when things don’t go well can be to be a little upset, and then more upset, and then really upset. It aws a whole lot worse in the past, believe me!

What I’ve learned is to take that same energy, clean it up and create with it.

I want you to learn how to do that, too, because it will save you eons of grief.

Anger and frustration is just a lot of energy rip-roaring through your system. We’ve been told, “Oh, don’t get mad, don’t get angry, get rid of your anger.”

Since we’re not ’supposed’ to get angry or sad or worried, we push our feelings deep inside. They sit there and stew, and eventually leak out at the most inappropriate times.

And it hurts as it all tears around inside of us!

In truth, when you’re mad about something, it’s just a wake-up clue to the fact that there’s something in your life that you do not want. And, of course, there is also something that you do want.

There’s a trick you need to know and start cultivating: instead of just sitting there stewing and worrying or spewing your rage all over people, you need to start doing what it takes to resolve your energy and create what you do prefer.

Quit spending your energy uselessly–you’re just spinning your wheels, hurting yourself and others, and not going anywhere. So, here’s what you do….
